If the Lions are serious about cutting meaningless games from an Australian tour due to weak opposition, they’ll cut all games but the tests. They should probably only bother scheduling one of those too…sigh…

Twiggy might be a billionaire capable of running a massive mining company. He might even be able to save rugby in the West. But he can’t speak gooderer English – “a fair bit of water under the bridge with Cameron and I”…WTF?!?!?

WTF is anyone surprised that this happened…

a. Meafua will have been treated like a mini-God for the last 5 years or so, and would have thought he was untouchable…
b. He’s a kiwi – his first reaction to most everything would be violent. It’s how they mostly solve things. Once Were Warriors, anyone?

Hopefully his next ten years of night-club bouncing, or road-working, will see him too old to ever play football again (assuming he’s not in prison). Hopefully this is a shining example to all other athletes of what will happen when the rules are broken. And hopefully, he’ll be deported so he can’t do this in the country that’s fed him and his numerous family members since they darkened our shores.

The NZRU have consistently said they hold themselves to a higher standard than most other rugby-playing countries – physically and mentally. They used to also be considered worthy guardians of behavioural standards, and touted their mentoring and guidance of younger players striving to become a famed “All Black”.
Little by little, that halo has been slipping, and this year, with the SBW suspension-manipulation to keep him in the Test side, and Smith’s blatant lying about his tryst-ing and the resulting NZRU’s skewering of a young girl’s reputation to protect him, that halo is around their knees.
Shame NZRU (and Steve Hansen in particular) Shame!

If she’s a lawyer, she must have giggled, then cringed, at his attempt at “sworn affidavit”. Turns out intellect and rugby skill are diametrically opposite. Who knew?
And now we’ll get to read all the Aaron Smith apologists saying SHE is the grub in all this. Because, well, he’s an AllBlack, isn’t he? And they’re all demi-gods…

This whole deal is embarrassing for the NZRU and Hansen in particular. They’ve clearly contravened the meaning and spirit of the suspension – every single person I’ve spoken to (including kiwis) thinks SBW should serve out his time and miss four games of EQUAL stature ie. four test matches.

And seriously, is SBW that important to the AllBlacks and rugby in general? Yeah he’s good, but New Zealand have a conveyor belt of skilled players lining up and waiting their turn, and they should be  given a chance rather than pandering to rugby’s greatest ever mercenary…

Yeah yeah – So they’re saying that there’s going to be a $50million influx of funding to grassroots cricket. I call BULLSHIT. And I bet I don’t have to wait for more than one year to have my fears realized – that it’s all smoke and mirrors, the top players will get paid more, and parents will be paying increased yearly fees when it’s sign-on time for their kids next season…
